This is what it’s all for!
A father captured a proud moment of his infant daughter watching her mom on television for the very first time.
Entrepreneur Jay Bailey took to social media to share a proud moment he captured of his infant daughter. Sitting in her highchair, baby Sage can be seen staring at the television screen, almost in awe as she watches a news reporter who just so happens to be her mother.
“You become…what you behold. I’ve been waiting for this very moment for months. For Sage to see her Mother - right in the middle of some of the most important moments in history - her ‘Mommy’ - a living loving example of life long dreams coming true - a powerful woman making it happen personally and professionally. Our little nugget gazing at the screen feeling inspired - feeling loved - feeling proud - seeing her reflection - and knowing without any doubt EVERYTHING is possible,” Bailey wrote.
Her mom, NBC News correspondent Blayne Alexander, gave birth to Sage just six months ago, capturing her motherhood journey via social media. As she ended her maternity leave, she shared how grateful she was to return to work and how motivating her husband and daughter were for her, calling the last six months with her family and new baby, “transformative and humbling.”
Alexander shared reporting clips featuring well wishes from Today Show reporter Hoda Kotb and NBC correspondent Hallie Jackson. Both women congratulated Alexander upon her return from maternity leave saying they were excited to have her back and highlighting her new bundle of joy. Included in the clips was the picture shared from Bailey of baby Sage.
“I’ve never been more grateful to work with such amazing people! The ‘back to work after leave’ transition is definitely an adjustment - but returning to a group of incredibly thoughtful and kind colleagues brought me SO much joy. And this 2nd pic makes it all worthwhile,” wrote Alexander.
Bailey continued to praise his wife for her work and the example she’s setting for their daughter, adding, “Babe you were fantastic! So proud of you and this amazing journey - first day back on the screen - and you’re killin' it in red!!!”
Congratulations, family!
