College Athlete Surprised on Senior Day by Army Brother She Hadn't Seen in Three Years

As a college athlete, senior day represents an opportunity for family and friends to cheer you on at your last home game. As Texas Longhorns outfielder Ki’Audra Hayter walked the field with both of her parents by her side, she was surprised by another family member she didn't expect to see. What she didn’t expect was a surprise from her brother, U.S. Army sergeant La’Kedran Hayter, whom she hadn’t seen in three years.

As Hayter walked down the field a video message from her brother, U.S. Army sergeant La’Kedran Hayter, began to play. La'Kedran is stationed in Japan and hadn't seen his sister in three years.

Kay Kay was visibly surprised by the message, but what happened next literally knocked her to the ground.

"I kind of broke down on the ground, I got kind of weak." Ki'Audra Hayter told the Daily Texan. "It was really surprising. Usually, I’ll see a lot of stuff and figure out what’s going on, but they really got me."

Kay Kay transferred to UT in 2018 from North Texas. The last time her brother saw her play was in 2015.
