An Influencer Asked Black Men To Show Their Black Wives And The Responses Were Full Of Black Love

Black love is beautiful!

Black creative Lisa Beasley took Twitter on Tuesday to ask Black men to show their Black wives, and the internet didn't disappoint. The post, which has now gone viral, shows dozens of beautiful melanated couples of all ages displaying their Black love.

According to Pew Research Center, in 2019, 38% of Black people live in households headed by married couples, and "in 2017 only 15% percent of Black men were married to non-Black women which is up from 11% in 2010."

Researchers Ivory A. Toldson of Howard University and Bryant Marks of Morehouse College wrote an article in 2011 that broke down certain myths about Black love, "Marriage: Education and Income, Not Race." They analyzed the census and found that 83% of married Black men who earned at least $100,000 annually wed Black women. Also, 85% of Black male college graduates married Black women and 88% of married Black men - regardless of socioeconomic status -have Black wives."

The internet couldn't get enough of the thread, which further dispelled the myth that Black men don't marry Black women.
