And she just so happened to grab the last ticket!
After a long day Geraldine Gimblet decided to stop at her local gas station, Pipkin Road Beverage Castle, to get a $10 lottery ticket. Gimblet told Black Enterprise, “At first, the gas station clerk thought there were no tickets left, but I asked him to double check because I like the crossword games the best.”
Trusting her gut was the best decision Geraldine could’ve made. She ended up purchasing the last ticket which paid off tremendously because that final ticket was worth $2 million!
This win comes as a big blessing, as Geraldine has been footing the medical bills for her daughter's breast cancer treatment. This has resulted in her having to clear out her savings account.
A day before she purchased the lottery ticket her daughter rang the iconic bell, signaling her final cancer treatment. The timing of the win couldn't have been more perfect.
Gimblet’s daughter and granddaughters joined her to claim her prize at the Tallahassee lottery headquarters. Her daughter stated “I’m just so happy for her!” After taxes she was able to leave full of joy and and $1.6 million dollars richer!
Perhaps a lesson here is to do good, no matter what, because you never know how it might return to you.
