So far, senior year for "Black-ish" star Yara Shahidi has included landing her own spinoff show, receiving a college recommendation letter from Michelle Obama, and now, being accepted into every single college she applied to. With several Advanced Placement classes on her high school transcript, the activist and STEM advocate received acceptance letters from four Ivy League schools, two state institutions, and one historically Black college and university.
"Acting has been amazing and I love every moment of it, but it wasn't something I planned for. College is something I've been planning for, for such a long time. I've wanted to go to college before I was in middle school and so I think because of that, that's what made this such an insanely cool moment and also nerve-wracking because I was like 'I've been leading up to this. This is 12 academic years in the making!'"
Yara has not yet disclosed which school she plans to attend, but wherever she goes, she plans to double major in sociology and African American studies. Along with her parents, we know Michelle Obama must be really proud!
Way to go, Yara! We can't wait to see what you'll accomplish next!
