There’s a new hair care product coming to the market courtesy of one of our faves, Ms. Tracee Ellis Ross.
The famous daughter of legendary singer Diana Ross, made the announcement via social media yesterday, saying that the brand, appropriately named Pattern Beauty was something she's dreamed of for 20 years. As a matter of fact, she wrote her first pitch for the brand in 2008, after wrapping her hit show Girlfriends.
Ross announced the new venture via social media saying that her new hair care line was specifically for curly, coily and tight textured hair.
The Black Ish star worked with beauty brand incubator, Beach House Group, to launch her products. Ross and her team of chemists tested 74 samples over the course of two years to find the right ingredients to concoct her formulas.
Pattern Beauty is a natural hair care line formulated for curly, coily and tight textured hair. The products include a shampoo, three targeted conditioners, leave-in conditioner, two hair serums, a shower brush, a hair clip and a microfiber towel to enhance and nourish curls. Ross is overjoyed to finally be launching her 20 year old vision.
“I’m excited for PATTERN to join the natural hair movement, and to celebrate our hair for what it is: beautiful,” Ross said.
With this move she joins a growing list of Black owners in the beauty industry. With Black people own less than 1% of the total market share, Ross’ decision to enter into the world of hair care is a big deal.
Products will be available online at patternbeauty.com Monday, September 9th and at Ulta locations on September 22nd.
