This Mom Quit Her Six-Figure Job to Launch a Self-Care Retreat For Black Women

Dr. Toscha L. Dickerson is an international speaker, bestselling author, and the CEO of Dickerson Management & Associates. She recently quit her six-figure job to pursue her business full-time with her 11-year-old daughter, Black Enterprise reports.

The certified Clarity and Stress Management coach educates women on how to take care of themselves and understands that no one can be a superwoman everyday. She created “The Big Easy Retreat” as a space for rest, healing, and relaxation, and her daughter, Kaleigh, has been there every step of the way.

“For us to move forward and live productive lives, we must get past the brokenness so we can experience the breakthroughs! We are humans and we will make mistakes, but we must not allow our mistakes to define who we are,” said Dr. Dickerson.

This half-day retreat will kick off this year in New Orleans during Essence Music Festival Weekend. According to Black Enterprise, Dr. Dickerson decided to launch “The Big Easy Retreat” during the annual festival because of its historical setting to meet women from all walks of life from all around the world. Together, the duo aims to ease Black women's anxieties specifically, assisting them with self-discovery, gaining clarity, and reducing stress.

As we continue to live in unprecedented times; it is important that we take care of ourselves and learn the importance of self-care. My purpose is to inspire and teach women how to navigate life through sharing experiences and knowledge so they can reach their highest potential,” Dr. Dickerson continued.
