Now he’s got options!
Meet the Florida teen who scored a perfect 1600 on the SAT, WPEC news reports.
Justin Ricketts is a 17-year-old junior at Suncoast High School in Riviera Beach, Florida. A rising senior, Justin recently took his SAT in preparation for college. When the test scores came back, Justin discovered he had achieved a perfect 1600 score on the SAT.
According to College Wise, out of the 2.2 average students who take the test annually, only about 1% achieve a near-perfect score between 1550-1600. The margin is even smaller for those earning a perfect score, making Justin’s achievement quite an academic feat.
The teen is currently fielding a number of colleges including M.I.T., Princeton, and Harvard, setting his sights more on a region than a particular school.
“I definitely want to go to school in New England, hopefully, so those are my top choices right now,” he told reporters.
Justin’s goal is to become a neurosurgeon and now that the SAT is out of the way, he’s keeping his summer jam-packed with opportunities to keep the momentum going.
As a member of the debate team, he just competed in nationals and is preparing to step into the role of president of the team this fall. He is also gearing up for a stint in Boston where he will attend M.I.T.’s Research Institute’s summer program to study visual tension.
Congratulations, Justin! We can't wait to see what you'll accomplish next!
