It's never too late or, in 8-year-old Nia Mya Reese's case, too early to follow your dreams. When Nia's first grade teacher assigned her class to write about something they had an expertise in, Nia decided to pen a piece about something she's mastered all too well: being a great big sister to her 5-year-old brother Ronald Michael. Now, what started as a simple school assignment has turned into a book that has reached best-seller status on Amazon.
This past summer, Nia's mother Cherinita Reese, rediscovered the writing assignment, and said, "It was so honest and helpful. I told her, 'You just wrote a self-help book for kids!'"
Nia's book went on to be called "How to Deal with and Care for Your Annoying Little Brother". It chronicles her personal experiences as an older sister and offers advice on how to be a kind, patient, and loving older sibling.

Since Nia's book was published by Yorkshire Publishing last November, Nia has had a book signing in her hometown of Alabama, been featured on CBS evening news, and above all, the lessons in Nia's book has inspired her classmates to put their best foot forward in school.
Way to go, Nia! Best-selling author today, perhaps Pulitzer Prize winner tomorrow. Nia's "How to Deal with and Care for Your Annoying Little Brother" is available on Amazon.
