On Sunday, Washington D.C. resident Virginia McLaurin turned 108 years young! Since the moment Ms. McLaurin danced in the White House with the Obamas during Black History Month in 2016, she has become an inspiration to millions. Today, she continued her birthday celebration at the LAMB Public Charter School in northwest D.C. with the Harlem Globetrotters, who also celebrated with her last year.

While there, the two Harlem Globetrotters, Buckets Blake and Hoops Green (the 15th woman in the history of the Globetrotters) talked to the students about Ms. McLaurin's incredible life and how they could implement some of her positive traits in their lives. The party included cake, basketball tricks, and words of wisdom from the birthday girl herself: "I love people. My mother trained us to love everybody. You don't know who you're going to need, or who's hand you will fall in before you leave this world. So you have to love people.  And I do."

Also, in the name of Ms. McLaurin, the Harlem Globetrotters donated 108 tickets to their game this weekend to underprivileged youth.

Ms. McLaurin, your longevity and commitment to serving your community continues to be an inspiration to us all. Help us wish Ms. Virginia McLaurin a very happy birthday!
