Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Michelle Obama Wrote A College Recommendation Letter For Yara Shahidi

Like millions of high school seniors, "Black-ish" star Yara Shahidi has conquered college applications and is now waiting for college decisions. However, there's one recommendation letter that will definitely make Yara's college applications stand out among the rest. It's from the first African American First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama.

The young actress asked the former First Lady for a recommendation during their discussion on International Day of the Girl, where they celebrated the day by talking about the importance of girls' education.

Yara applied to both west and east coast colleges, including Harvard, where Mrs. Obama earned her Juris Doctor degree. Harvard is also where Mrs. Obama's eldest daughter, Malia is set to start her collegiate journey this fall after taking a gap year, which Yara also intends to do after high school. She then plans on double-majoring in sociology and African American studies.

With her talent and passion for activism, Yara has become a role model and inspired countless people, which clearly includes Michelle Obama.
