Serena Williams’ Daughter Becomes Youngest Person To Own A Professional Sports Team

Talk about a boss baby!

Tennis phenom Serena Williams recently announced she and her daughters ownership of a new Los Angeles’ soccer team, making the two-year-old the youngest person to ever own a professional sports team, Rolling Out reports.

The National Women’s Soccer League announced its new expansion team in Los Angeles, named “Angel City.” The team has a 30 person star studded ownership group that includes Natalie Portman, Eva Longoria, Uzo Aduba, Jennifer Garner, Serena Williams and husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, and their two-year-old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

Williams took to social media to share the good news, posting a picture of Olympia that read, “A new era of sports & entertainment in Los Angeles. Building a women’s football club that lives up to its name... Angel City.”

The toddler’s stake in the new sports company is historic, making Olympia the youngest co-owner in professional sports. Her father spoke about why it was important for them to include their daughter in the new business venture.

“As someone who spends hours kicking around a football with my 2-year-old daughter, I want her to have a front-row seat to this revolution. I’m personally investing on behalf of my family because creating more opportunities in women’s sports is important to my wife and me, and we want to be a part of making a better future for our daughter,” Ohanian said.

According to Yahoo! News, the new team is expected to play its first game in the 2022 season, just shy of Olympia’s fifth birthday.

Congratulations!
