Chance the Rapper's recent $1 million dollar donation to Chicago Public Schools has left NFL star Michael Bennett feeling inspired, so much so that he has now pledged to donate all of his 2017 endorsement money to charity.
The Seattle Seahawks defensive end announced the news in an Instagram post, sharing that his donation seeks to "help rebuild minority communities through s.t.e.a.m (science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math) programs, as well as initiatives that directly affect women of color."
Bennett, who is known for championing social causes, also announced that 50% of his jersey sale proceeds will be donated to programs and initiatives for inner-city garden projects. His current community work also includes fighting against childhood obesity through his charity, "The Bennett Foundation." Here is Bennett's full explanation, as shared on his personal Instagram page with a photo of his three daughters, below.
Michael, thank you for continuing to use your platform to help support and nurture the future of the next generation.
