On Saturday the No.1 champion Naomi Osaka and tennis phenom Coco Gauff competed in the third round of the U.S. Open. Going into the match, we knew that it would be a full on display of Black Girl Magic and grit, but the best moment happened after the game.
In the end Osaka prevailed over Gauff beating her 6-3 6-0. As soon as Osaka won the match point the two met at the net, exchanged a few words and hugged. As Gauff gathered her belongings with tears streaming down her face, Osaka exemplified the sisterhood and sportsmanship we should all strive towards.
When Gauff wanted to retreat to the shower to cry alone, Osaka encouraged her to stay with her to do the post interview.
As if that wasn’t enough, after Gauff shared a few words, Osaka went on to acknowledge Gauff's parents and the fact that both she and Coco were just two kids who made it.
The display left social media in tears, including us.

Thank you Naomi and Coco for representing us well!
Up next there’s more Black Girl Magic to root for as Osaka advances to the fourth round along with Serena Williams and Taylor Townsend.
