Barack and Michelle Obama's eldest daughter has officially left the nest.
On Monday, the former President and First Lady helped Malia Obama move into her dorm room at Harvard University, where they both graduated from law school. After graduating from high school in 2016, Malia decided to take a gap year before heading off to her parents' alma mater.
She used the gap year to explore the world and intern at the U.S. Embassy in Spain and The Weinstein Company, a film and TV production company founded by Harvey and Bob Weinstein, in New York City.
The 19-year-old's major has yet to be revealed, but with a passion for film, we're pretty sure it's going to have something to do with filmmaking. But for now, we hope she takes her dad's advice: "Be open to new experiences when you go to college. Don’t go to college just to duplicate the same experience you had in high school."
Best of luck Malia on your collegiate journey! We can't wait to see all the great things you'll accomplish.
Harvard's first day of classes are set to start August 30.
