You never know what may happen until you try. That's the mindset that New Jersey high school senior Ifeoma White-Thorpe had when she applied to all eight Ivy League schools. "I want to go into global health and study biology and so many of them have great research facilities, so I was like, I might as well just shoot my shot and apply," Ifeoma said.
Turns out, taking a chance paid off for Ifeoma in a big way, as she has now been accepted into ALL eight Ivy League schools: Harvard, Yale, Cornell, Columbia, Princeton, Dartmouth, Brown, and the University of Pennsylvania. Ifeoma has also been accepted into Stanford University.
"I was like, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, like this might be eight out of eight," said Ifeoma. "And I clicked it and it said 'Congratulations' and I was like oh my goodness!"
Maintaining top grades in her AP classes and serving as student government president at Morris Hills High School, Ifeoma was accepted into Harvard University early action and was set on continuing her education there. However, now that she's been accepted into nine top universities, Ifeoma expects to base most of her final decision off of the best financial assistance offered.
Congratulations, Ifeoma! Thank you for inspiring us all to never be afraid to take a chance on our dreams.
