LeBron James Airing Television Special To Help Class of 2020 ‘Graduate Together’

This is just the type of encouragement graduates need!

LeBron James is putting together a star-studded television special that will honor the Class of 2020.

According to AP News, The LeBron James Family Foundation has partnered with the XQ Institute and The Entertainment Industry Foundation to bring a one hour graduation special to television. “Graduate Together: America Honors the High School Class of 2020,” will celebrate high school graduates across the world, who are missing out on a physical graduation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The special was curated by high school students and educators across the country, and will feature performances, commencement speeches and a star studded lineup. Special guests include LeBron James, producer Pharrell Williams, activist Malala Yousafzai, actress Yara Shahidi, screenwriter Lena Waithe, singer/songwriter H.E.R., and hip hop artists YBN Cordae and Chika. `

“I wanted to help create a show that looked and felt very different from traditional specials. Something that spoke to kids in a different way. These kids worked so hard to graduate and what is happening to them is truly unfair. I hope we can give them and their families something cool that makes their accomplishment feel special,” James said in a statement.

The special will air May 16th at 8pm EST. on NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, Complex Networks, PeopleTV, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube simultaneously.
