Serena Williams is now a new mother!
Today, the tennis great gave birth to her first child, a 6-pound, 13-ounce baby girl in West Palm Beach, Florida. When Williams first announced her pregnancy on Snapchat (by accident) this past April, it was discovered that Williams was pregnant when she won the Australian Open in January. The win marked Williams' 23rd grand slam singles title, which is more than any other female and male tennis player in the history of the Open Era.

Now Williams and her fiancé, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian have welcomed their first child during the week of the U.S. Open.
After reclaiming the world No. 1 tennis ranking in April, Williams wrote this sweet message to her unborn child:
"My Dearest Baby,
You gave me the strength I didn’t know I had. You taught me the true meaning of serenity and peace. I can't wait to meet you. I can't wait for you to join the players box next year. But most importantly, I am so happy to share being number one in the world with you.... once again today. On Alexis Ohanian bday. From the world's oldest number one to the world's youngest number one.
-Your Mommy"
Congratulations to the new parents!
