For the first time since 2010, Venus Williams has reached the semifinals at the U.S. Open. Last night, she defeated Petra Kvitova in the quarterfinals, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(2), and will now face Sloane Stephens in the semifinals. This win also marks her third major semifinal of the season.

"Definitely felt like a special match. No easy moments, not easy to hold serve or break serve," Williams said. "This match meant a lot to me, obviously, playing at home and, of course, it being a major."

On Tuesday, Stephens also had a pretty special match. As she advanced to her first U.S. Open semifinal, she became first U.S. woman other than the Williams sisters to reach the semifinals at the U.S. Open since 2004. The moment meant even more to Stephens as her win comes after an 11-month hiatus due to a foot injury.

Now, Williams, 37, and Stephens, 24, will face each other in the semifinals. Williams will be vying for her 50th WTA singles title. The match is set to be on Thursday; the time has yet to be announced.

Congratulations, Venus and Sloane! We'll be rooting for the both of you, because when one of us wins, we all win!
