Will Smith to Help Raise $50 Million to Fight Homelessness

Will Smith to Help Raise $50 Million to Fight Homelessness

Bedtime stories never sounded so good!

Will Smith will read a bedtime story live on December 7th as a part of a fundraising initiative to help fight homelessness around the globe.

Smith has partnered with The World’s Big Sleep Out, a campaign that seeks to raise money to end homelessness and displacement around the world. The campaign encourages people around the globe to organize or join a “sleep out” for one night in an effort of raising $50 million to support various charities throughout the world.

Times Square, NY is the location of Smith’s bedtime story but there will also be sleep outs and live performances happening simultaneously around the world including Chicago, Madrid, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam. In London, Dame Helen Mirren will be reading a bedtime story from Trafalgar Square.

The goal is to help at least 1 million people impacted by homelessness or displacement with 50% of proceeds going to a charity of the host’s choice in their city and 50% going towards global charities.

You can support by joining a sleepout or hosting your own at www.thebigsleepout.com.
