This Couple Just Opened a $5.5 Million Headquarters in Chicago for Their Thriving Security Firm

We love when couples make power moves together! AGB Investigative Services, an African American owned security company, just opened a $5.5 million facility in Chicago, We Buy Black reports.

The company was founded as an investigative firm in 2001 by husband and wife team, Dr. Denitra and John Griffin. Their mission was protecting, “your people, property, and data.” Since then, the couple has expanded their business to provide a suite of security options including physical and cyber security, private investigation and security education and training. The company that once started in a basement now employs 600 full and part-time security professionals.

AGB clients include electric utility company ComEd, energy company Nicor and retail giant Walmart. They also offer services in an array of cities including California, Denver, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC.

Last month the company took to social media to express their excitement about the grand opening of their $5.5 million complex in the heart of Chicago saying, “@agbinvestigativeservices opened its doors to dignitaries, business men and women, and the community for its grand opening today! It was a joy to reflect on the beginnings of this family owned business with our partners, friends and community members. We are excited to provide a business that is focused on workforce development and job creation for the Auburn-Gresham community and to the greater Chicagoland area.”

The Auburn-Gresham area is a community that is over 90 percent African American with 41 percent of families in the neighborhood making less than $25,000 annually. Dr. Denitra Griffin, a former Chicago Public Schools program manager helped to build AGB into what it is today. Both she and her husband plan to stick to their motto of “Always Giving Back,” a mantra they embedded into the company’s name, by reinvesting into the community through job creation.

The two also run the Always Giving Back Foundation, which helps to provide opportunities for youth and adults. Through the foundation, they have given over $45,000 in scholarships to young people and provided hundreds of youth with business internships. With the new facility, the couple hopes to be able to provide even more opportunities for those who need it the most.

Yes to more couples making power moves together!
