It's that time of year again! When millions of people celebrate love and all those that they hold dear. For this Valentine's Day, we wanted to highlight a few extraordinary couples whose love and commitment to one another have epitomized real relationship goals and proved that Black love can stand the test of time.  

1. Legendary actors and activists Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee 

Ossie and Ruby Dee got married in 1948 and went on to share 56 years of marriage.

2. Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher 

In 2008, the Fishers set a new world record for longest married living couple. Before Herbert passed away in 2011, the two had been married for almost 87 years. 

3. Duranord and Jeanne Veillard 

The Viellards got married in 1932 and celebrated over 80 years of marriage in 2015. 

4. Moses and Evelyn Smallwood 

In 2016, this beautiful couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary and became one of Long Island's longest married couples.

5. Sammy and Macie Waller

The Wallers tied the knot in 1942 before Sammy was drafted into the Army during World World II. They've been married for a total of 76 years. 

6. James and Virigina Wilson

James and Virigina met each other in the 7th grade, dated all throughout high school and have been for 64 years and counting.
