For the "What Have You Done For Me Lately" music video and the "Control" album, Jackson won a Soul Train Award for Best Music Video and Album of the Year respectively. According to Billboard, the album also received four Grammy nominations, 12 American Music Awards, plus hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums and the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
