We will never get enough of Black superheroes!
Marvel just released a new poster with actor Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Good Morning America reports.
“The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” is currently streaming on Disney+. Like most films and series in the MCU, fans know if they wait until after the credits roll, they’ll be in for a sneak peek into what’s next. At the end of the miniseries, viewers got a chance to see what’s in the cards for Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter, but also a title switch that read “Captain America and The Winter Soldier."

The series finale explored Mackie’s character, Sam Wilson, as he grappled with giving up his role as the Falcon and leaning into the possibility of becoming Captain America, Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers having given over the shield to Wilson at the end of “Avengers: Endgame.”

Now, Marvel Studios has released a poster of Mackie in his new red-white-and-blue super suit, equipped with the stars and stripes shield and his signature wings - just to add a little spice.

During the series, Wilson discussed the ramifications of a Black man in America becoming Captain America.
“The legacy of that shield is complicated...Every time I pick this thing up, I know there are millions of people out there who are going to hate me for it. Yet I’m still here. No super serum. No blond hair or blue eyes. The only power I have is to believe we can do better,” Wilson said in his closing speech.

A fourth “Captain America” seems to be on the way from creator and writer Malcolm Spellman. No word yet on when we can expect it.
We can’t wait to see a Black Captain America! Congratulations Anthony!
