Kacen Callender’s Young Adult Novel ‘Felix Ever After’ Is Being Developed By Amazon

This is so dope!

Amazon just announced the development of Kacen Callender’s hit young adult novel, Felix Ever After, Deadline reports.

The novel follows the story of Felix, a Black transgender teen who has never been in love. While navigating his identity and self discovery, Felix finds himself in a catfish scandal turned love triangle. His journey eventually helps him to focus on his most important task, rediscovering and redefining himself. The book has been receiving great reviews after being picked up by HarperCollins and published this past May.

Now, Amazon Studios is working on a television adaptation in partnership with Field Trip Productions, who acquired the rights. Callender called the recent partnership a “dream come true.”

Hopefully, we’ll see more adaptations of their work in the future. Callender is the author of several other novels including Hurricane Child, King and the Dragonflies, This Is Kind of an Epic Love Story, and Queen of the Conquered.

No word yet on when this is scheduled for production, but we’re excited!
