Jordan Brand And Howard University Announce 20-Year Partnership

We love an HBCU win!

Howard University’s The Dig recently reported on a 20-year partnership between Nike’s Jordan Brand and Howard University.

Howard University’s athletic department is coming out of a deal with Under Armour and will soon be sponsored by Michael Jordan and Nike’s own Jordan Brand at the end of the summer.

This partnership is a full circle moment for Jordan Brand President and HBCU alum Craig Williams, who stated “Howard University and Jordan Brand share a legacy of excellence and deep commitment to the Black Community. As an HBCU graduate, I understand the educational impact an institution like Howard University has. We are proud to partner with Howard University and see the growth in Black talent on the field and well beyond it.”

Together, Howard University and Jordan Brand aim to continue uplifting Black students and amplifying the influence of HBCUs on a collegiate sports level while also continuing the impact on culture globally.

Howard University President Dr. Wayne A.I. Frederick also issued a statement, saying “We have always been proud of our legacy at Howard University, but we are audacious enough to believe our future could be brighter than our past. Partnering with Jordan Brand is another signal of our ambitions as a university to become an even brighter beacon for Black Excellence. We are thrilled to work on that vision of greatness together,”

Howard University and Jordan brand will give a first look at the new Bison/Jumpman uniforms on August 27.
