Rihanna Expands Empire and Makes History as First Black Woman to Head Luxury Fashion House

Rihanna is preparing to inundate Paris and the world with more of her Black girl magic through her new Paris based fashion brand in partnership with LVMH. And of course, it’s appropriately named Fenty.

Some of the brands LVMH owns includes Dior, Fendi, Givenchy, and Louis Vuitton. The fashion house also helped bring Rihanna’s wildly successful and disruptive Fenty Beauty to the market. The brand was launched in 2017 and is sold in 17 countries across the globe.

In a statement on the company’s website, LVMH’s CEO and Chairman Bernard Arnault shared how things developed.

“Everybody knows Rihanna as a wonderful singer, but through our partnership at Fenty Beauty, I discovered a true entrepreneur, a real CEO and a terrific leader. She naturally finds her full place within LVMH. To support Rihanna to start up the Fenty Maison, we have built a talented and multicultural team supported by the Group resources. I am proud that LVMH is leading this venture and wish it will be a great success.”

This is the first original brand launch for LVMH from scratch since 1987.
