Over the weekend, The Savannah State University Tiger Cheerleading Squad competed in CheerSport, the nation's largest cheerleading competition. While there, the Tigers faced off against some of the best teams, but their skill set, teamwork, and amazing school spirit led them to win the top prize AND make history. Now Savannah State University holds the title as the first ever Historically Black College and University to win CheerSport Nationals. The Tigers made their first appearance in CheerSport back in 2013 and now will return as history making champions. Although the team (made up of 12 women and one man) didn't set out to make history, the Tigers are proud to bring the historic win back to Savannah State University.

Even Gabrielle Union, or should we say the Clovers' team captain in the teen classic "Bring It On", took notice.
